Pre trainer for Nicky Henderson and more notably daughter of the legendary Fred Winter, sadly took her own life on Christmas Eve, RIP.

SO so sad. I found out yesterday morning and still can't quite believe it.
Hope she's found peace now.

I too couldn't believe the news. She was a very close friend when I lived in Lambourn although we had lost touch over the years. Devastated to hear she was so unhappy. She was always such a strong, tough character when I knew her who was loads of fun. I always turned to her when I was having the usual boyfriend troubles and she would get out a bottle of gin/wine to sort me out. A very talented rider, she competed both as an amateur and eventing doing well in both codes.

I understand her long-term partner lost his battle with cancer this summer having been diagnosed this time last year. Presumably she couldn't cope. RIP Jo - you were one hell of a girl and the place is going to be worse for your passing.xx
