A plea for help!

A friend of mine job shares and the other "sharer" is on sick leave (now over 2 months and with little sign of returning). They are being required to cover the sick leave indefinitely. The contract of employment is predictably vague.

Is there any employment legislation covering this?

Thanks in anticipation!

PS: They are not job sharing with Fernando Torres!!

Citizens' Advice Bureau could be a useful port of call, DD. They have links to (free) legal advice if they can't answer the question/s directly themselves. I have two pals who've worked for CAB and I'm surprised by how wide their remit of assistance is.

Speak to ACAS, they will tell your friend exactly what he/she is or is not entitled to and will act on their behalf as well. I've taken good advice from them over employment in the past and they offered to take a former employer to court for me if I wanted to take action.
