Jumps 2013/2014 - Sick-notes

Ahem.

Monsignor has met with a minor setback, but Mark Pitman thinks he might be back after Christmas.

Shut up - it's tradition.

Has there ever been any news on Alan King's Invictus?

“The run that brought a wry smile to my face was that of Bobs Worth in the Gold Cup. I thought he was a well above average winner of the great race, but I couldn’t help thinking back to his last defeat, which was at the hands of Invictus. One month before the 2012 festival Invictus beat him by 3l in the grade 2 Reynoldstown NC at Ascot, with Silviniaco Conti back in fourth. Unfortunately our horse injured a tendon before the festival and hasn’t run since. Happily I can report he is doing very well and is having a canter every day. He will return next season and if we can get him back to where he was before the injury then who knows what he can achieve!.”

Yeah, Alfie Spinner split Bob's Worth and Silviniaco Conti. Selective memory.

Not a sick note as such but Harry Fry has suffered a blow as promising Oscar Rock, King Of The Night and Urban Hymn will join Malcolm Jefferson.

Reported on Twitter at the weekend that top Frenchie Bel La Vie picked-up an injury in his hurdles outing late last week, and is likely to be OFS. The Jousellin is probably there for the taking, with any UK/Irish staying-chaser rated 155+ or thereabouts - a horse like Tidal Bay would trot-up, imo.

The question is: are connections smart-enough to make an entry?

Sadly not Grassy - might tempt the Papot's to give Willie a nudge with Rubi Ball. I'd imagine one of the reasons that they moved him there is because they had Bel La Vie for the Jousselin.

I'd love it if Rubi Ball won the Jousselin, Martin - mainly for you, rather than the Papots! :D

I've got love for both of them Grassy, patient approach has clearly paid off with Bel La Vie just a shame he's now injured - off back to the greatest jumps track on earth on Thursday too for the latest renewal of the Prix Finot.
