Oh, it’s good to have jumping back - sorry Reet - with Chepstow. Already been some decent horses on show and some promising runs.

Friday
1:00 Knappers Hill. Paul Nicholls likes to start off one of his good ones here and Knappers Hill didn’t disappoint, although he didn’t win by as much as you’d expect from a 2/13 shot. Had plenty in hand though. Nicholls thinks he needs experience and says he’s off to Wincanton 6 November next.

1:35 Does He Know has been a difficult character, but showed a lot of promise on his chase debut beating the odds-on favourite. Ask Dillon doesn’t seem to have forgotten his debut fall last year and jumped very slowly. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him back over hurdles.

2:10 Some Chaos lost his way last term after a good start, but a wind operation (all the rage nowadays seems to have put him back on track.

2:45 The Hobbs pair Camprond and Luttrell Lad dominate this with Camprond - the longer priced - looking particularly decent, although needing to sharpen up jumping. Luttrell Lad - finished up favourite - also showed promise.

3:20 Progreesive won this without seeming to do a lot and had been prepared for the race with a previous flat run. He’ll Red was disappointing and it’s suggested something longer may be necessary.

3:55 Nina the Terrier won this well and Tom Bellamy described the ride as effortless with brilliant jumping and something of a surprise.

…will do Saturday later
