Who do you think will win? :) Are any odds available on this?

Irish Stamp tells me Jonjo is 1/3 to have the "top goalkeeper" (No.1 stopper) this season but I can't find the price online.

2/1 about Nicky isn't bad. According to Terry on FF, Henderson has up to 280 horses to play with. Crazy numbers.

Watching ATR. Twiston-Davies is 12/39 in the last 14 days. They have just had a double at Towester. This is the stables time of year and while they might all start going off shorter now his runners need a second look.

Do they offer e/w on those?

I think McCain could have yet another stellar year and I would fancy him to be pushing for the top three. He won't get near Nicholls though. His chasing team has to be one of the best ever assembled.

I really think Henderson is a great price. Apparently his numbers have swelled even further, and he had enough quality as it was. Add to this the fact that Denman and Kauto look to be possibly on the downgrade, and you would have to say Nicholls will struggle to repeat recent years domination.

Having read Terry's comments on FF, saying Henderson has up to 280 horses to play with now that the likes of JP McManus have boosted his team as a reward for last year's successes, I thought Henderson was a good bet, but then Tracy posted that Nicholls can more than compete with 280, so I am not so sure. His website is set to be updated soon, with this year's full string so I will have a look. With the likes of Noland and Neptune Collonges back, and by the sounds of it plenty of new horses coming in with the likes of Jared Sullivan moving almost his whole string to Ditcheat, plus the usual French recruits, you'd have to think at this stage that Nicholls will once again take the crown.

Apparently Nicholls shifted out 20 horses, and brought in 20 ones with serious talent..10 point to point from Ireland, 10 from France..

Much excitement...

Nicholls in a canter...

20 point to point horses? Jesus that is serious fire power. Any idea what owners these were purchased for? 4/7 looks a bet. Not that I could wait that long.

10 point to pointers, 20 horses in total - another 10 from France...

Actually, just thinking, I was told point to pointers but it may just be 10 horses from Ireland.

Not sure what owners they are for to be honest. Just told they were excited about new recruits and that Ruby has been spending a lot of time schooling etc, and supported that confidence...I assume there are people around here more knowledgeable about the PTP and the French scene who might be able to put names to numbers

IS is yer man for the French horses, I believe. Nicholls has always had plenty from France - did we not find he'd got around 60% from there in 2009, with Alan King around 35-40%. You can't beat them for precocity in being bred for the job, schooled early, and knowing how to behave on course. Love to know if any are proven or are just finished early schooling.

Just cant see why Jonjo is so shite with the whole Jackdaws, McCoy, McManus, Coolmore thing. Such a serious underperformer IMO.

If you put a Bowen or McCain in there they would do much better!

Twiston has IMO the best jockey with Paddy and his boy is looking the part.....really like that set up. Wont win the title but more interesting than the Kauto/Denman bollocks

Henderson 2-1 is the bet for me. Looking back at last season, he has a lot lot more exciting novices coming through to this season, whereas Nicholls do not have as many good horses coming through.

Most horses Nicholls buy from France and Ireland are hype jobs anyway, wont be 20 aeroplanes......

I know he has Sollim who was placed over hurdles in France - connections post over at TRF and thought highly of the horse.

There was an article in the RP a few weeks ago from his open day that listed a few of the others - Nicholls also has some leftover fire power from 2009/10 that didn't get to see the track including Tanerko Emery who was second to Sang Bleu at Auteuil last October who was presumably off injured last season so hoping to see him back.

He's recently bought Cedre Blue and Zarkander from France in recent weeks too and I imagine there'll be a few more to come this month and next (there's an Arqana sale Mid-November which is were they bought Najaf in 2009).

No idea Simon - the Racing Post still have him as being trained by Phillip Peltier but he was definitely in the Stable Tour last year and doesn't appear in it this.

It was a lot more competitive than I thought it would be, in fairness.

I was considering having a large bet on Nicholls at 4/7 when I saw the prices. It would have been a sweaty winter.

£230k in it, so Tricky Nicky would need to win both the Bet365 and the Scottish National to have a chance. Doubt he has much entered in either apart from Carole's Legacy.
