One hundred thousand english pounds a win on Time For Rupert at 3/1.

They offered me one thousand.

I had 500,000 English Pounds with Ladbrokes on Captain Chris at 6/1 and they took it without aproblem.

That's the good news the bad new is the the pound crashed last night and its now 75,000 pounds = $1

Don't you hate it when that happens? I tried to do that, too, but it seems you've actually got to have the money in your account first. Pedants!

When I was told Captain Chris was catching pigeons I can see what they meant.

He was still trying to catch them today and only missed one by a fraction.

He looked like he had an overdose of schooling from Yogi Bresner....weirdest jumping I've seen in years.

CC was jumping like something was hurting - so glad they pulled him up - still can't understand why they didn't try some 2m chases first before they upped him in trip, he did win the Arkle:confused: - there goes my bet on the Queen Mother :(

I think your observation that Broadbackbob would prefer a flat track was spot on - he didn't seem to handle Cheltenham too well - it was a credit to the horse he finished so close - there goes my bet on the Neptune

EC: your reply included, of course? Is there a ban on which threads people are allowed to respond to? I think we should be told...

It's just a spoof, surely everyone could tell that? Which is fine - after all, Bruce Savage was responded to enough times. Come to think of it, Brucie hasn't posted for a day or two - let's hope his well of imagination hasn't run dry so soon.

I did the same David;)

Kri - its not a matter of telling anyone what to read or post on..I was just commenting how sad it is that this thread gets so much interest..more than Giglio's..reply wise for a start

If you think regular threads like this enhance the board..then fair play to you..i personally don't.

I like a laugh more than most..but..this type of thread isn't even funny..it reminds me of the days when folk were new to the internet and you got some real braindeads destroying boards with pathetic behaviour..lazy obvious humour

i like comedy threads..this is just shite though isn't it?..where is the humour?

i've had my say..if only me thinks this isn't really up to much..then i'm obviously not in touch with the board ethos

Depends on how you look at things. I have no idea if Goodkat waas trying to be funny or he was just angry at the way the big bookies are treating customers these days.

What isn't funny is punters can't get 100 quid on at 5/1 without some computer knocking them back and Majors trading under the pretence of being bookmakers when all they really are is bookworms with one aim, to keep their lability low and profits high.

I hear they now have only one member of staff in each shop and no security guards.
most with staff alone in shops all day. Mind you who'd wnt to rob them if all they do is take 20p yankees?

They are no more than convenience stores for the small punter. More and more of whom are discovering the exchanges and it's only a matter of time before they have to change, or get out of the game altogether. The quicker the better if you ask me.

EC, I don't know who or what Goodkat is - is he someone who's made a pest of himself on here? All I've seen is people taking the mickey out of his posts, so I assumed that this was another put up for a laugh - i.e., there's no way he has that sort of money. I suppose I'd need to know (and care) a lot more about betting in order to know if it's real or a spoof, although it seemed dotty enough to be a spoof to me.

However, may I just say I ventured an entire £10 cash today with dear old Dick Naylor at Charing ptp and won a stonking £40 back on NO PAIN NO GAIN. It didn't quite make up for forgetting that FRUITY O'ROONEY was running yesterday and not putting £50 e/w on him, which was to be my cunning plan, but at least it wasn't a total p1ss to windward!
