About 3 days ago I started a thread on TRF enquiring about a black pundit on RUK who hasn't appeared for quite some time.

Apart from some utterly reprehensible replies, I was informed he was Ken Pitterson, a highly regarded paddock judge.

I had found Ken a valuable source of information when he appeared on RUK and wondered why he had not been given more opportunities.

I was therefore most surprised to see a two page spread on Ken on page 20 of this morning's RP!!! (seems after I inspired Lydia with her Times piece this week, the RP picked up on my Ken Pitterson thread!!!! joking of course!)

I first saw Ken (not knowing him from Adam) at the Huntingdon meeting (I think) when Cheltenham got abandoned due to foot and mouth (on the 2nd day J F Panvert sold me his owners badge for a five in the car park!!)

I always noticed Ken at subsequent meetings as he had this "god" like spell over a huddle of enthusiastic disciples hanging on his every word.

He seems a really nice bloke, an NH man through and through, and personally I wish RUK would give him more work as he is a genuine expert which is more than can be said for a lot of their people.

Very good indeed. [I'd have like to have read the earlier ones too]

I did 'meet' KP in a large group of people once at Newbury, and from where I was standing he seemed like a very nice, and self effacing, sort of guy, tho I didn't get to have any sort of meaningful conversation with him

I am gonna write to the RP complimenting them on the piece and suggesting RUK remploy him. Maybe some of you would like to join me - a lobby group!

Racing could do with a more multicultural side, with Persad now lost to the BBC general sports division.

I must confess I stopped buying the Weekender a few years back.

I think the RP would do better employing KP as a columnist that the "sh*t stirring" Graham Cunningham!

Fair enough Colin, you are entitled to yours and I respect it.

He gets a right caning on Betfair as well, or used to at any rate!
