h30 GOLDEN HOSTESS 6/5 has produced two decent efforts to date, the latest of which was over this C&D. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The daughter of Gold Standard is a progressive type and with Aldo Domeyer in the saddle, she should be the horse to beat. RENY ran a fair race on debut over this C&D. She understandably raced green, but stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should be competitive. LADY SILVANO is an unraced daughter of Bold Silvano and she is the stable companion of the second choice. She is related to multiple winners including Bold Respect and Super Silvano. Greg Cheyne takes the ride and she should give a good account of herself. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances. TUSCANY finished 4 lengths behind the top choice on debut. She would have come on from the run and with Richard Fourie up, she should make the natural progression.
h15 ROBERT BURNS 5/4 is the best bet on the programme. He set the pace over 1400m last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Kapuziner. The son of Twice Over is bred to enjoy the rise to 1800m. He meets the right field this afternoon and should go one better. KEEP SHINING should have finished closer last time as he raced wide around the turn and was cramped for galloping room at the 100m mark. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and with a bit of luck in running, he should be one of the leading contenders. JEM ROCK has fair form lines to his credit. He steps back up to the 1800m and the blinkers have been removed. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he can run into the placings. NAUSHON raced wide around the turn last time and understandably lacked a finish in the closing stages. His penultimate run when finishing fourth over this C&D catches the eye. He jumps from a good draw of four and if putting his best foot forward, he should feature.
h25 CRACKLIN' ROSE 9/4 finished 0.75 lengths behind TREASURE HUNT last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She is having her peak run and should be cherry-ripe. From her good draw of four, she can return to winning ways. PERFECT TRUST should have finished closer to the winner last time as she had to be steadied at the 400m mark. She has won twice and finished second once from six starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in running, she should pose a massive threat to the top choice. TREASURE HUNT tired late when finishing fourth over 1600m last time. Her penultimate run when winning over this C&D catches the eye. Keanen Steyn knows her well and she should be involved in the fight to the finish. REWRITE THE STARS ran a good race when finishing third over 1600m on this course last time. She is likely to have her own way in front once again and can run into the placings.
h05 MA BLACK 9/5 was super-impressive when winning her last start over 1000m on this course. She raced from a prominent position, quickened up well and drew clear of the opposition. She would have come on from the run and can follow up. TWILIGHT HOUR showed good speed when finishing third over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She takes a drop in class and despite carrying top weight of 61kgs, she should go close to winning. LITTLE MISS PINK ran a good race when finishing second over this C&D last time. She moved up like a winner, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Bonika. She is in a good space and should be right there. MISS GREENLIGHT challenged strongly in her last start against male company. She finished 2.25 lengths behind the third choice in her penultimate run. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result.
h40 TCHAIKOVSKY 5/4 followed up his maiden victory with an equally impressive win over this C&D. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He meets a similar type of field this afternoon and can notch up the hat-trick. SILVER SALMON has shown signs of a form return in his last two starts. He has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. He takes a slight drop in the ratings and will be staying on at the finish. ALPINE CHALLENGE is a 2yo taking on older rivals. He was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1200m. The son of What A Winter won his only attempt over this C&D and may be at his best over 1000m. He may be hard to peg back. BLUFF ON BLUFF was his own worst enemy over 1400m last time as he overraced in the early stages. His penultimate run when finishing second over 1100m on this course was encouraging. Richard Fourie retains the ride and he cannot be ignored.
Cheers
