The first Kyne Wilson scholarship, in memory of tragic young riders Jamie Kyne and Jan Wilson, has been awarded to 22 y.o. Paul Pickard. He was friends with Jamie and rode against Jan, and is clearly delighted to be carrying their names on with this scholarship, worth around £4,000, for Yorkshire-based apprentices. Beverley r/c will be assisting with his mentoring, equally delighted to help out as Jamie had his first win at the course.

He didn't, his first win was on Birkside at Wolverhampton in December 2008.

Although I very much recall one of his winners at Beverley. It was on a 28/1 shot and outsider of 6 called Bollin Freddie where he outrode Paul Hanagan on a certain Joe Jo Star.

I should've put "... Jamie had his first double", etc. (Also his last winner, DUCHESS DORA.) Thanks for pointing out the error.
