For the umpteenth time this season, I was in a Ladbrokes as soon as they opened the door, only to be told that the price I wanted was no longer available. Not a Pricewise selection, nor a bet to take thousands from them: a modest bet at a price they've advertised nationally, with their own promise to guarantee the price writ large directly under the race in the Pricewise table. Not even a market change on their computer, simply 5/1 (6/1 advertised) - take it or leave it.
I was so irate at this regular piracy, I asked the manager to ring Customer Services, who came back with the gem "Prices are only guaranteed from 8.15 to 8.30" . Well, Hello Ladbrokes - none of your shops in our region open before 8.30, and the couple of times this season I've been in at that time, I've been informed "Prices aren't available yet".
Shame on the Company for their misleading advertising, and shame on the Racing Post for perpetuating this scam by including them in the Pricewise tables.

I cant comment on on the English based offices but the ones here in Ireland are pretty much as you quoted almost impossible to get anything decent on at a price.
Sometimes I do staking for the bigger boys and even 50 ew scares the **** out of them.
In days past you get more on with the small private bookie the fat cats have gobbled those guys up and they wont lay anything decent.... muppets
