For anyone interested. :)

Good Friday - 21 March 2008 - takn from The Lambourn website

The open day is a unique opportunity to see the horses in the training establishments throughout the Lambourn Valley. Last year over 30 trainers opened their yards to the public and over 10,000 people took the opportunity to meet the horses, the trainers and to really see first hand the Lambourn racing industry. Many yards have special exhibits and some demonstrations including horses using hydrotherapy pools.

In the afternoon the massive events field with its central arena opens with a full programme of equine and country related shows and demonstrations of country skills. Trade stands offer all manner of goods and services generally connected to country pursuits. Children's activities are also available and there are many different places where food is available.

Im going up to Middleham on Good Friday they are having their Open Day aswell . :)

The main carparks are in Upper Lambourn, and well signposted; if you want to go to other yards in the main village and sourroundings you park where you can.

Nicky Henderson, Barry Hills, Clive Cox etc out of Lambourn on the road past the Church have their own parking, best to do those first if you want to, then park up in Upper Lambourn as the main afternoon event is in the field opposite the car parks. You can't do all the yards in one year, it just ain't possible

Al's yard in Eastbury is doing breakfast for friends - and friends of friends! - from about 8.30am, so that might be a good way in if you are coming form Exit 14 of the M4 - Open Day programmes will be on sale, and they have a map of all the other yards and parking facilities, so it's a good starting point:

The yard is at the '5 lane junction' as you come into the village.

Lambourn itself is where the two roads going off top left of the map converge

Toby Corney [award winning photographer who is syndicated by Getty images, see http://www.tcphoto.co.uk/ ] is putting on a slide show at the yard of his work-in-progress "50 Years of the Lambourn Trainers' Association" - there will be some wonderful local photos

Anyone coming for breakfast, can you give me a shout [via pm] as we are trying to get some idea of numbers - tho it's not essential
