We have krizon to thank for this little gem:

The next time you find yourself on a plane and sitting next to someone who cannot resist chattering to you endlessly, I urge you to quietly pull your laptop out of your bag, carefully open the screen (ensuring the irritating person next to you can see it) --- and --- and hit this link

Thanks, Brian! Thank God there are a few on here with pc skills beyond mine - I really must learn how to do this sort of thing for myself.

The £50's on its way, sir. ;)

On the travel theme, are all the frequent flyers on here aware of the latest BA checked-baggage allowances ?

For cattle-class passengers it will be a maximum of 1 piece of luggage on all routes (except US and for some reason Brazil & Nigeria) with a one-way surcharge of £60 (rising to £120 for non-European routes) for a second bag.

Obviously these restrictions probably won't apply to Brian as I'm pretty certain he sits closer to the cockpit than the rest of us ! :P

Brian doesn't use commercial airlines. He has his own Gulfstream II, with cocktail bar, mini-casino and scantily-clad croupier, and a king-size waterbed for the arduous longer trips. Like Cheltenham.

Yes, I'm not so sure the poor wee lad on the check in desk was too impressed with you giving forth about it though CF!!!

  The 'poor lad' has worked on the BA Check-In for at least 18 months now and when he volunteered the baggage info, seeing that I'm back in the UK for a Christening next week and would be taking my suit (after brushing off the 18 months of dust it will have accumulated) that usually travels in a separate bag I thought it wise to see if they would hammer me for it.

All this excess baggage/2 bags thing really pisses me off. If you weigh 30 stone, they don't charge you extra so what difference does an extra bag or a kilo overweight make ? Similarly you get no discount if you travel with no hold baggage. Money-grabbing BA-stards.

Rant over.

EDIT: Can't spell 'separate' :shy:
