Leopardstown Christmas Festival

It appears to be called the ‘Leopardstown Christmas Chase’, Ed......odd that no-one has stepped in to snap-up what is always a hugely popular event.

The beginners chases might be quite hot because the going through December has been pretty desperate and some have been waiting for the better ground that you usually get here.

A pretty depressing race and likely to be a walkover for whichever of the Mullins pair turns up unless Ball D'Arc can step up significantly.

Whereas Willie could give us a Xmas present and run both Un De Sceaux and Min. Yeah, like that'll happen.

I normally take a group of ~10 to Leop on 27th. Those who know me will tell that I am a notorious tightwad regarding money so if anybody gets free tickets from PP and aren't inclined to use them let me know.

(I'm talking to you, Slim)

Despite being left in yesterday Ch’tibello won’t run in the Ryanair, on box rest with a cut on his leg this morning.

Two horses caught my eye Day 1 of Festival
At Your Ease (A L Moore)
This Scorpion on debut was very edgy (Montjeuish) in parade ring, spooking and falling over at one stage before running a fine sixth beaten 10 lengths in the first race behind Ellie Mac. Trainer described him as a "very nice " horse; JP owned he is one to follow.

Canardier (D. A McLoughlin )
Ran very well in second race; he was up with the leaders on the final bend before stumbling and losing position. Paloma Blue was quite an impressive winner but this fellow was going to give him enough of it before stumbling.

Would add Miss Sassie who ran on to be fourth in Sparky Stowaway's race on Tuesday.

I'd wait for the word 'good' to be in the going description and 2 1/2 miles.

Voix Du Reve an eyecatcher for me.

1st run back from a long layoff, off top weight, ran well for a long way through the race. Interesting for the Pertemps.
