Savage card.

Flem and SDC clashing again. So many variables in this one.

Boston Bob, BIF , LW, MdH in the Moriarity

Some very promising juveniles. I like Our Conor

Deloitte hurdle has Champagne Fever on a recovery mission

I've got the prayer mat out, the rosary in my hands, the lucky pants nicely ironed already. Lucky cufflinks, lucky pen, lucky lighter are ready and waiting. Tempted to go. Frightened of going in case he doesn't run! Rituals planned but can't find away to get a goat on Ryanair.

So it's stay home, tell the wife I'm edgy because the Spurs must win Saturday lunchtime and it's probably best she goes to see one of her friends. Load up the Betfair account, set the back and lay options on the AP market, have several fags lit and ready to go and watch the racing.

Symptoms of the Fever!

Really hope Boston Bob can show some sparkle on Saturday. The RSA needs a shot in the arm. Nothing to be excited about in the race to date.

Will be in attendance tomorrow, should be a cracking day. Small fields in the main races are not great from a punting point of view, but hopefully we can nick a winner from someplace:cool:

I'll be really surprised if Sir Des Champs can cope with Flemenstar who I put up as the bet of the year but I never thought for one minute Bog Warrior would run.

Davy Russell obviously thinks Sir Des Champs is the better horse but I'm not so sure he's right.

First time I laid eyes on Bog Warrior I thought he had the makings of a top class chaser then it all went horribly wrong. He kicked Flemenstar into touch, then falls, then wins like a superstar, then runs like a boat, then falls again.

His wins over Zaidpour and Solwhit over hurdles recently indicate he lacks nothing in the speed or stamina departments so the main worry has to be will he jump.

If Flemenstar is allowed to stride out which seems to be the plan and Bog Warrior gets into a good jumping rhythm Sir Des Champs could find himself struggling in this and unable to get into a challenging position.

I see Bog Warrior as the main danger to Flemenstar whereas I don't regard SDC as having any chance of beating him barring accidents..

Few of the guys on here backed Champagne Fever for Cheltenham hope he runs a big race for them today

Diakali and Blood Cotif look to have the first between them and I would expect them to finish in that order.

Later in the day Rory Anna look to have at least sound place claims and could win at decent odds.

Given Bog Warrior is highly unlikely to go for the GC and SDC is, if it was a close call for Russell, perhaps he chose SDC on the basis of another run on him, more experience, more understanding of his nuances.

I think they will use Bog Warrior to lead or bother Flemenstar

I dont dont see Bog Warrrior in front of Quel Sprit either

Quel Esprit and bog Warrior could both make this a real stamina test today. I'm tempted to place-lay Flemenstar

Wouldn't go overboard on that bet, Grass; Irish small field stake races are rarely run at a good clip and, with the ground less holding than his last run, and a lesser field to beat, Flemenstar might just last home - particularly if they hold him up, as seems likely.

I quite think the opposite
Flemenstar only chance is being able to dominate and making his jumping tell

Bog Warrior will do the pace for their gold Cup horse.

No bet race for me

I think Gigginstown might be quite happy to bury BW today, reet, to make it a truer test for SDC. Mullins possibly thinking along exactly the same lines with QE.

Half the field looks ranged against Flemenstar, and I'll be very surprised if they don't try to put the gun to his head. I generally remain unconvinced by theories that he will stay if he's ridden with more restraint, and am broadly aligned with suny's view. I do concede the point about the slightly better ground being in Flemenstar's favour, though.

As it happens, I've Win laid only. I might take another look at the Place market nearer the time.

It doesn't really matter whether one is right or wrong in the end-game, as long as one's position beforehand is bold and fearless.

Good work, Slim.
