What do you make of that?

"The human brain is broadly photosensitive. The photoreceptor proteins we found are known to take light stimulus and transfer it into neural signals. Channeling light directly to these brain areas via ear canal will generate a response in the photosensitive cells"

These results are encouraging, especially for bright-light therapy channeled via ear canal direct to brain tissue"

Now is the time to get in on the act with a bright-light equivalent of the MP3 earplugs. Channel the light directly through the ear canal and get rid of those (shortly imminent - groan) winter blues. Brilliant discovery with some very positive uses for the future. Perhaps depressives could be helped without being loaded up with damaging drugs?

Funny, I always thought the quickest route to the brain was through the nose - that would be interesting!

I can just see a colleague of mine shining a torch into various (facial) orifices to get the best effect!
