In the last few weeks Limewire will not work for me. Every time I try to download something it keeps saying "Limewire is trying to connect".

I have a feeling it might be the firewall but why all of a sudden when I have changed nothing?

I used AVG and Comodo Firewall. Any suggestions?

I've had trouble with Limewire and AVG of late, not sure if downloading the former buggered up the latter, but I've been strugglign to rectify things since.

Have tried everything, firewalls, removing it and re-downloading it etc etc.

Given up at this stage...anyone use anything similar to Limewire that I might try instead?

Googling around it looks like BT throttle all none http stuff (esp. port 80 p2p etc.) between 4pm and midnight and that it has got worse since they changed their package offerings last year.

Not sure about Talk Talk Warbler - are they just a BT reseller?

Agh..... that sounds right. I've had a massive problem work with Port 80 and our less than brilliant IT support team who can't provide google earth for me, even though it's a very useful modeling tool. I suppose I win in the long run though, as it enables me to justify working from home more regularly
