I hadn't been aware of this until I read a snippet somewhere yesterday or the day before.

It's a pity one of the days is a Flat meeting but, that apart, the money must be tempting for NH enthusiasts.

I imagine the likes of Nicholls will have had the meeting penned in for a few of his horses for some time.

I wish it success.

Thanks DO. Don’t usually bother with Lingfield cards but valuable prizes on offer here so could be competitive

I wasn’t aware of it either, despite it being 15 minutes from my house but presumably it’s to help replace their AW Finals day which has moved to Newcastle.

Good prize money and while I’m in Barbados that weekend I’ll definitely plan a visit in 12 months time.

I'm a fan of Lingfield's turf course. It would be good if they could get a valuable jumps race there more often.

I've had a soft spot for the place since I landed a three-cross there back in the 1970s (a Saturday TV meeting). I got something like £125 back for 25p stakes. Big money for me in them days. From memory, the middle leg was a good handicap hurdle won by a horse with a name like Predominate.

I would have thought the bookies would have welcomed this valuable meeting but many aren't pricing up a lot of the races in the ante-post lists, especially the £100k hcap hurdle which only Hills have priced up.

Bunch of shiters.

Looks like a good weekend racing,Friday to sunday with ascot 9n Saturday.
Could be a good weekend for Venetia.

I wonder if they have lost the ability to price a race the old fashioned way and just rely on software nowadays.

I haven't got round to studying the form for the £100k hcap hurdle yet but I've taken a stab at Chti Balko at 16/1 (4 pl).

He's been that price since Hills put up their odds the other day but I held off since Hills are seldom the most generous and I hoped maybe this one could make it on to the Longshot thread.

However, 16/1 is the top price today and I know from experience that Bet365 will honour the BOG on the day as well so I'm happy to take the punt just now with the aforementioned caveat that I haven't yet studied the race.

The horse, though, won last season the first time it encountered 'heavy' going by 26 lengths off 135 and was put up to 141. He couldn't follow up next time before subsequently disappointing. The yard is in much better form this season and the horse is back down to 129.

Two promising runs this season after a wind op were followed by a poor one but it may just have come too soon (12 days) but it was also over an extra half-mile in heavy ground and stamina might have been an issue. He's had three weeks' recovery time now and a drop in the ratings so he's 6lbs lower (129) than when achieving RPR 148 thirteen months ago.

Metier might be a good thing, especially if this has been the target all along, but Chti Balko is too long if that form of last season can be taken at face value.

Happy to pay to find out.

Whats new the horse was returned at 33/1 and ran like a tin of unopened sardines and that's after tipping a 33/1 shot who finished 6/7 and then another 33/1 that was returned at 150/1 guess the his ratings on excel must have a glitch in them:blink:

Getting back to reality Lingfield is back on the Polytrack where it belongs and is ideal to pass the time between the 4 main races of the day over the jumps.

Not put any thought into these either to be honest
George Boughey continues to set the world on fire. He is out to recover losses on Totally Charming and has booked Ryan Moore to do the business
Moore rides 2nd fav Mohbashr later in the day and he could topple the faovurite
and for the 3rd leg of a small 3 cross George Boughey's Al Ameen 3 fiver doubles and a tenner treble will do for me.

A £150k race that should have been contested by Gold Cup contenders is won by a handicapper in a blanket finish.

Great for Two For Gold and its connections but pish for purists.

Notwithstanding the sad sight of MT's suffering an injury, you have to wonder what Cobden and Sheehan were thinking there. The clock on the TV was clearly showing they weren't going over-fast up front, with plenty of furlongs around the 15 and 16 second mark. They could easily have afforded to be five lengths closer, in which case we might have had a different result.
