There are certain things in my life which I repeatedly lose. Well, maybe not lose, temporarily mislay may be a better term. Top of the list are my car keys and my mobile. The mobiles not too bad, at least I can ring it (as long as the battery isn't flat) but there's been many a morning when, already late for work, I've turned the house upside down looking for my car keys. I won't go into how many times I've actually found them in my handbag. :shy: Closely following the mobile and car keys is my cheque book, which I really should take more care with. Problem is that no matter how many times I lose these things I still do it. Am I the only one?

My boyfriend lost his keys as we left the pub only this evening. They were eventually found (after a quick panic) in his pocket "evidently" hidden amongst Barney's pooh bags! Luckily, the pooh bags were empty ones.

Don't worry, Trips, it gets much, much worse with age! :( I had to walk twice into the kitchen today, to remember why I walked in the first time!

the worst is looking for your glasses (if you happen to wear them of course) and then finding your actually wearing them, that is frightening.

Keys are always a nightmare but Jon is so right when she mentions forgetting what it was you went upstairs for, or to the kitchen, wherever...

I am amazed I can make a mental To-Do list for my day down in the kitchen and by the time I've walked up to my office (all of 40 seconds), feel I'm doing well if I remember just one item from it.

Which results in me placing blocks of Post-It notes at strategic locations around the house and then periodically collecting them up to check I've done whatever it was I was meant to do...

But will someone please tell me how you can put a Post-It note on to your monitor, with an important task to do and still manage to forget to do it????

What? You mean you haven't learnt that your lost keys and mobile 'phone are always at the bottom of your handbag, under the telephone bill you meant to pay today but forgot, the (now heavily bruised) apple you took to work to eat at lunchtime but forgot, the packet of Xtra Strong Mints you bought three years ago to put in the car but forgot and the box of paracetamol you stopped at a garage to get last time you had a hangover but - yes - you forgot ....

No, your definatly not on your own! I lost some keys in the week before Christmas, I searched the house, retrached my steps etc for weeks, after begging a spare key from my landlord!! I was petrifed that I'd lost them in town or something, even tho i'd let myself into the house  Anyway, last week i was decorating, and I pulled out a cupboard, no prizes for guessing what was hiding behind it...!!!

I have learned two things from this thread.

- Kathy's boyfriend is called Barney
- He carries pooh bags in his pocket

:D

I bet you slept better for knowing about the Pooh bags last night BTB!
