I must admit, I always feel extremely guilty using plastic carrier bags when I am shopping and I really feel I can improve on this, even if it is by using my Tesco carriers next time I go to Sainsburys!  :D

What you have saved

Every promise you make for World Environment Day helps to make a difference. You've already made a huge difference, but if you haven't signed up to all the promises, go back and see if there's anything else you could do.

You've saved:

22 olympic sized swimming pools full of water

200 km of bags laid end to end, which is equivalent to the journey from Manchester to London

Enough carbon dioxide that you would have emitted by driving 207 times round the Earth

10 tonnes of rechargeable batteries

Almost eight months worth of time devoted to a green community project

Your favourite promise is to only boil the water you need in your kettle, and the least popular is payback your air travel. A return flight from London to Tenerife would only cost £4.74 to offset, so this summer try and pay back the emissions from your holiday.

The people who have promised the most regionally are from the North East of England. The city that has promised the most is London closely followed by Bristol, and then Leeds.

The group that have made the most promises are women aged 25 - 34.
