Market Rasen Saturday

Don’t know yet what I’ll be backing but won’t be the favourite who’s won some small field novice events and this is a completely different test

My pin selected Pink Eyed Pedro. A repeat of his Topham run would surely see him go close

Also Voice if Calm in the 2.05 to prove the better of Emma Lavelle’s

A thread for the Summer jumping at Market Rasen and nobody mentions former Forum stalwart Roddy Owen’s hope. With the Bowen family input he has some very good times farming the big events at the course. Travelling home from a short break I missed out on backing Francky de Berlais winning the Summer Plate at 11/1. Thus unhappy that memory failed me but very pleased for Roddy and the Bowen team.

Yeah Roddy Owen was on the Neigh forum back in the day, 2005/06 when I first went on forums.

A fair bloke to tolerate me the way he did!

Cantoris was the same.

I was a grammatically challenged, opinionated idiot back then.

I've hope I've changed in the intervening years.

A shame these forums are dying of death now.

We've still got more bookies than there are political parties but all that political stuff has disappeared.

Mind you, at least on this forum the debate has been about the horses and meetings more than anything else.

Well done Roddy.

Yes great to see Roddy’s colours winning a big race. Managed to back him in a small double with Scaramanga [emoji3]

I managed to catch up with Roddy at Market Rasen on Saturday, and Franky Du Berlais win capped an excellent day. Whilst not so good on his feet these days, Roddy was in the same form as the horse.

If you’ve never done The Summer Plate meeting, I’d strongly recommend it. I was there with Frontrunner and another friend, and we had a very pleasant weekend of Racing and Golf.

Love the track, the view, and the food.Golf's good, too.
