As the post-Cheltenham blues kick in, a desperate attempt to prolong the warm glow of proper racing and postpone the inevitable creep of the flat.

What wins the Midlands National? Would love to see a big performance from Carruthers, but I'm edging towards last years 1-2 of Master Overseer and Major Malarkey.

Thoughts?

He seemingly hasn't stayed over 3 miles but I doubt Sherwood would run Global Power if he didn't ultimately think he was a stayer, and he might run well carrying ten stone with a 7 pound claimer.

But its a tough race so hopeful rather than expectant. Good luck.

Couldn't fancy him myself.... If Cool operator wasn't so old I'd be having a decent bet on him. Unbeaten on heavy ground, trip is an unknown but he flew up Carlisle's finish last time and the trainer seems to know what he is doing.

Good shout guys. Had to join in on the plunge as didn't want to feel left out. How easy was that? Taking a pull before 3 out in case getting there too early.

Kind words, Slim & co. Thank you.

Your on the forum 10+ years. Your ratings are intriguing hard working form analysis. I consider myself a judge of judges. You rarely put one up like that. I had €125 e/w @ 8/1 instantionously on a no bet day when I saw your post. You'll be unlikely to get more respect than that on here.
