Just got back from the track, very very annoyed with myself. Was torn between Fuisse and Makfi and went for Fuisse with no rhyme or reason why.

He's always been an exceptional horse and whilst I don't think he'd beat the mare on fast ground, he's deserved this win. He had excuses at Ascot, scoped badly and he could be another who just bombs out at Ascot.

I'd back him to beat Canford if they met again away from Ascot which is unlikely.

I believe one forumite said Ascot was as good as Makfi was?

Ec, the ground was desperate. It must have rained for 10-12 hours during the 36 hours prior to the race, if not more.
