i have two mobiles

a motorola v220 on orange

and a sony erricson k750 on 02

does anyone have an opinion on motorola phones they have a good reputation but i find mine crap the address book is very hard to use.

and although i live in an area where no matter what network i use i get poor reception and orange insist my area is 99% covered i get crap reception on orange where i live and in many other parts of the uk.

also the messenging service and missed numbers service on orange is extremelypoor with messages sent that i havnt recd and only one last missed number facility

the sony erricson on the other hand is an excellent phone very easy to use and a good size

the 02 network whilst again difficult to receive where ilive works very well in most other places also the message service on 02 is very good and i get alist of all missed call numbers not just the last one

i want to change my phone on orange but not to the same as on 02 so i can see easily which phone is ringing (if they ring at same time)

any suggestions as to which phones are goodor bad??

and if i can change from orange any opinions on the various networks??

Personally I like Motorola, but they aren't to everyones taste
I have a v525 and a v3 razr at the moment and like both of them (the v3 is a little limited in functions for example it has no video recorder - but as I use it as a phone rather than a video camera it doesn't really bother me. )

Are you on contract on your orange phone at the moment? If so how long have you been on for? Do you need to keep your orange number you have at the moment or does it matter if you get a new number?

Lastly, and don't answer if you don't want to, rough idea of how much you want to spenmd on a phone and ill try to recommend something

I've always ben a fan of Nokia. I'm pleased to say that on the subject of networks I've been with Orange for years and haven't experienced anything like the problems you describe.

Just changed from a siemens sl55 ( crap sound levels, if in a noisy environment, you couldn't tell it was ringing ) to a samsung D500 which is easy enough to use. Just got to figure out what all the buttons are for now.

I have a Nokia.

It's very old.

Infact, while other mobile users enjoy a fully charged battery that lasts for a long time, I regularly find myself running out of coal.

If you charge a battery without it being absolutely flat it will remember how low it was when you charged it and run out at that level in future rather than running down fully.

I have a Motorola V975 on 3. It's a total disaster, both the phone and the continually pathetic network coverage. And as for customer support, they have achieved what I thought was impossible: they are actually a more useless shower of BLEEP than NTL and BT.

Mobile phones are my business guys, and as I don't want to get into selling or trading on here, if anyone wants some advice offline I'm happy if you want to PM me. Shouldn't matter if you are in a contract either.

dvd

im in a contract for another 6months or so and i have to keep the number i dont think switching networks is an option for me yet but i can upgrade to another phone

i was thinking about a nokia as i have used them in the past without problem

there are so many now i was wondering about either a nokia siemens or another model of sony erricson if someone can make any recomendations

imnot worried about videos etc my main concern is battery life as i tend to do them in from constantly recharging them

I've got a Sony Eriksson T310 on Orange and I like it, even if the camera is shite on it!! The battery life on it is excellent still after a year's use (I find that after a year they tend to die!) and it has worn remarkably well considering that I can be clumsy & tend to chuck the thing about or drop it a lot! When I upgrade it I will most probably upgrade to the latest Sony Eriksson as I have been impressed by it so far. I also have an ancient Nokia 8310 (well, it's 3 years old!) on Movistar, and although the battery isn't as good as it was, it's still going strong. I took it to Glastonbury 2 years ago (when it was already a year old) and the battery lasted fully from Thursday morning to Monday afternoon, despite me using it a fair bit. Oh, and that ones been dropped a fair few times too...

I have a Motorola V220 (I think  ) on Orange and although the camera has packed up randomly, I like both the make and the network, both very uncomplicated IMO.

I have a nokia 7610 with O2. The phone is great, a bit chunky but function wise, i find it v easy. i had a sony z something before hand and i didnt like it, it froze too often and given my previous phones were all nokias, i find it fairly demanding to use, perhaps im biased in that respect since i've used nokias most of my life.

About network, i cancelled my old sony phone on t mobile and got a better deal with O2 on this nokia. I didnt have any problems during my 2 yrs at T Mobile, however, i sometimes have problems with this phone making calls, due to network. Not often but it has happened twice already...thus im not a great fan of O2. hope it helps!

I've a Nokia something or other. My last phone was a Samsung P400 as I thought I would have a change from Nokias but never again. And don't get me started on Dial-A-Phone.
Maruco, you say mobiles are your business, if you work for Dial-A-Phone I will apologise now as I think I've twined and been extremely difficult to every member of staff they have. I got results in the end though!

I've got a Nokia one with a camera/video/ all singing type of thing ( but i dont think I can change covers though - boo hiss!! ) on Orange. have always had the Nokia/Orange combo, and never really had a bad time.
