A memorable day was Sunday. Notable for two exquisite events.

Firstly, the last game of the season for Palace, who thrashed Villa 5-0 and confirmed that we have the finest set of players ever to grace Selhurst. Memorable because this was the last game that the current team will play together

What a remarkable run the the last seven games has been: six wins, one draw, 21 goals for and four against. Wins against Man U, Liverpool, aVilla, and Newcastle.

So a Sunday that gave me a 5-0 thrashing of Villa and Fancy Stuff a thrashing of his rivals by a facile nine lengths plus with an 11/4 SP after I’d backed him at 12’s the night before.

It doesn’t get sweeter than that.

So, another mundane Monday beckons. I have couple of alerts going but I don’t have my notes to hand so will only little Ew singles and an ew double on Chasseral 7.10 Windsor and Strongboww 8.00 Carlisle.

Chasseral is an ex Abdullah filly I had in my tracker last year. Similarly Leadenhall was also culled from that team at the end of the year. Tbh I prefer the Balding-S Williams switch to Beckett-T Easterby but they are both interesting today. Leadenhall runs in the 4.00 at Redcar.

I backed Palace + I thought I'd backed them H/T F/T too but only my straight win bet was taken - oh the pain (as someone, can't remember who that would have been, once said)

Edit backed Admiral's Sunset instead yesterday, fortunately in the 4 place market too (@ 3.05)

of note that it reverts to 5f. Often held up in previous longer races, I wonder if they might attempt to blaze a trail, this evening, Ossie. Didn’t he go it in front in a cl 2 6f sprint last year at Newmarket? Even held up, look at the profile of the run at York. Over 6f, he weakened a furlong out off OR81. Now look at who he was racing against: a far cry from OR 74 in a class 4 at Windsor, init?

Looking at the form, Euro, I would think it needs to come down the weights and drop to Cl5.

Cl 5 OR72 is the last winning stat so, for me, another couple of runs and it might be worth a look.

Thanks for the response.

I put needs 7f,but what do I know.
That Mark Johnson winner yesterday I said needed to drop back 2f and they stepped it up 2f and won.

Yeah, the breeding does suggest 7f but sometimes, with sprinters, a return to 5f sometimes works and surprises us.
Maybe tonight’s run will be informative as to these distance queries, eh

I find it easier to predict that a horse needs further than less of a trip, don’t you?

Chasseral I remember being outpaced over 6 in the 3yo handicap at York that Quinault won so I cannot have her over 5. Trainer is decent she might be worth following over 6

I haven't a clue.
Many years ago Gordon Richards had a chaser that kept running over 2m4 and kept weakening so I decided not to back it again until it ran over 2m.
Next time out it won at 10/1 over 2m 6f.
I still haven't learned my lesson.

Tonight, ‘missed’ the break, nearly in last place at the furlong pole, lovely progress in the final furlong, finished fourth under a considerate ride from master Levey. Prep.
5f Fast paced race, finished well. As you mentioned, 6f needed.
