Mossad

I feel sorry for the people who may be in danger having had their passport no.s nicked. I also feel sorry for the authorities in Dubai whose jurisdiction this assasination has taken place in. Juggling between the various powers was already tricky enough.

An unpleasant but necessary adjunct to any country's armed forces. This particular act seems a little amateurish. Should have made it appear as as internecine Hamas.

Of this we can be sure... Britain knows exactly what's going on, and so does Dubai. We will posture a while, puffing about the misuse of British passports, but as they're fakes, they're not really 'British' anyway. Dubai will proclaim an investigation which will harry its police force for a few months, while its own secret service will be quietly pleased that its co-operation went so well. Israel will vehemently deny it uses assassins and nobody will believe it (quite rightly), and imply exactly what TS has suggested. Nobody will be brought to book for the murder. So far, so predictable.

Dubai police have now discovered more people involved in the murder of Mabhouh, the tally at present (direct and indirect, from murderers to logistics):

12 - British
6 - Irish
4 - French
3 - Australian
1 - German

The travel movements of many have been traced, with some heading off to Israel-friendly Iran, while many booked hotels and air travel with credit cards issued by the Meta Bank in the USA. The EU's got slightly annoyed that other EU members' passports have been 'misused' but all that's happened is that various Israeli ambassadors have been invited in for tea and a cosy chat to try to explain what happened. As if they'd say if they knew!

There appears to be evidence of electrocution on Mabhouh's body, but the initial feeling is that he was suffocated. Perhaps knocked out with a Tazer or two, then suffocated so that, with his medications arranged beside him, he just looked as if he'd died in bed from illness-related causes. If Tazers were employed, it might point to them coming through in a diplomatic bag or being onsite, ready for use. It may be they're possible to disguise in flight luggage, but one wouldn't want to take a chance, so dipbag is my favourite, with a facilitator in Dubai to bring them to the hotel.

The next time you travel and your passport gets you a delay and a grilling at the Airport you can thank Mossad.

What is surprising - although perhaps it shouldn't be, given the general laxity of all forces supposedly protecting kids/the public/the elderly these days, is that so many 'genuine' as well as fake passports got through two sets of inspections. Doesn't really give you much confidence in our so-called barriers, does it?

The Irish passport no.s where valid. I suppose state run organisations like Mossad have access to the required technology to produce a perfectly forged document.

Any country which produces its own passports presumably runs off a few blanks for, er, diplomatic purposes, I assume? :ninja:
