Mouse Problem - Help Required

I'm having trouble with my mouse - it will only move the cursor about two-thirds of the way down the screen. What is wrong and how can I solve it, please?
 
I get that problem Brian and it is down to the fluff and grease which eventually gets inside.
Don't know which type you are using but if it is the ball type which I have, it is an ongoing problem but simple to clean
 
Two solutions. Firstly, remove the ball, clean in soapy water. Get a cotton bud and inside where the ball fits, you will see three rollers. There will be a film of gunk around the middle of each roller. Use the cotton bud in some alcohol or something similar to clean the rollers.
Secondly, update the mouse driver.
