I have the same problem and remember being eaten alive in the Amazon jungle by the little bastards, despite having a net (couldn't use a plug in - no electricity). Mind you the lodge manageress had do give me rub down every morning with some alcohol solution. Cuba was the worst place I've ever been for them.


I've actually found scolding water takes a lot of the itch away if you can bare the initial couple of seconds of pain whilst dabbing it on (its not that bad). Mind you, if you over do the temperature then it'll blister the skin.


I would post you a picture of Warblers back after he took the 'Amazonian machine gunning', but luckily for all concerned I don't have a scanner, and even if I did I don't know how to post a picture still
