I've got a tv with a dish and a sky box, I just get the free stuff.

But now when I go in it says no signal received, no jolly music and I can't get any of the programme listings up either. The dish hasn't moved and the card hasn't fallen out of the box. I can still get terrestrial tv.

Any ideas?

I know it's not quite the same set-up, but when things go nutso with my cable tv (NTL/Virgin), the advice is to power off the tv, then shut off both the set-top box and the tv at the wall socket for around 30 seconds, then switch back on. It's resumed normal service every time - so far!

My brother uses a metal dustbin lid and and some old coaxial cabling. He insists it works.

He also says the picture's lousy.

Thanks for the suggestions, but it didn't work!

The cause may be a silver birch in an adjoining garden, although it wasn't a problem last year.

No maybe about it.

Move or get a saw.
More practically in my experience this problem can normally be remedied by swithing everything of and restarting or evn uplugging every and starting from scratch. Is your satellite box get too hot which can simply be because there is not enough space around it,es pecially if it is left on all the time..If it is Sky the box menu contains some tips for dealing with problems.

BTW The tree is more likely to cause distortion rather than loss of signal.
