Scandalous decision to allow the horse to run. He was in no fit state at all to be able to have any chance of winning after bolting for a circuit.

Basically the rider took his feet out of the irons when the horse came out on to the track and it took off with him, doing a full circuit of the track at a flat out pace. When the horse was finally caught by the groom and trainer, he was led back to the start, despite being in a much sweat and very much above himself and lined up. He jumped off, but was beaten after about four flights, eventually pulled up early in the back straight. Unsurprisingly as all this was happened, the horse virtually trebelled in price, going off around the 12 mark having been backed right down to 4.2.

I usually find those who are 'talking through pockets' have more to offer than those who are only too ready to suggest someone is 'talking through their pocket'.

As for this incident there was an awful lot of waffle from Graham Cunningham on Racing UK seemingly wanting to find a scapegoat - someone he probably will never need to speak to - other than the trainer. Ewart should take complete responsibility for what turned into little short of a farce.
