I don't know where you got that from, Kathy, but it doesn't appear to be correct. The trouble is that at times like these there are so many rumours that get bandied around and they expand like mad.
No they don't. But along with other media organisatons they have a crew around the corner where the forensic investigations are going on.
We will see many such scares in the coming months. Another example is from Thursday when railway stations far from London were reported to have had suspect packages found. This is something that happens every day but because of what was going on in London suddenly there were reports of bombs in brighton, Swindon etc.
We always need be a bit careful with what is true and what isn't - especially with certain reporting organisations (see thread on Fox News) - but more than usual at times like these.
By the way, Sky News said that they showed the footage of the "bomb scare" this morning just to illustrate how many there are!
Better, in any event, to have the scares and know that people are on the ball again with suspect packages than to have them ignored and a bomb go off.
Back in my commuting days I spent many hours hanging round outside Euston Station waiting for the all-clear and many more hours tramping round the streets of London because the tube was shut but it was always a case of rather that than the alternative.
There are many bomb scares out here, they take such things pretty seriously. They always blow up any packages that are left, no matter how innocous they seem. It's resulted in toolboxes, people's lunch, people's shopping bags being blown up in the past!

I lost my tuba
To a controlled explosion,
High on a hill
It lies there still...
Where bags from coffee bars
Are blown as high as stars,
And controlled bangs and booms
Resound from hotel rooms
In San Francisco...
I lost my tuba
To a controlled explosion,
My cello, too, and full
Drum kit...
But I'll come back, to San Francisco -
Once I've come down from
This controlled orbit.
