... for me anyway.

Tangelo Juice. A tangelo is a hybrid between a grapefruit and a mandarin. Maybe it has been around for ages but I never heard of it before. I got some in M&S the other day, drank a full litre of it for breakfast this morning - gorgeous stuff. Methinks it might be quite tasty with a measure or two of Malibu also.

You could make a nice Tequila Sunrise out of it, Martin. Buy a bottle of Grenadine for the 'sunrise' bit. Throw in the tequila to taste, stir, then carefully slide a couple of inches of the Grenadine down the slightly tilted side of the glass, so it sinks to the bottom to create the lovely sunrise effect. I used to make them all the time in my partygoing past. And so full of healthy vitamins! :D

I mind of reading in the Sunday Mail about some Carribean drink that gave you the more positive aspects of being drunk (i.e. put you at ease, made you feel a bit happy/merry) but was non-alcoholic and spared you the hangover. If I remember right they said it didn't taste too good but was fine mixed with juices. Anybody remember what it was and has anyone tried it?

Was it NONI JUICE, HT? Made from a type of cactus, I think. Supposed to be incredibly beneficial to one's health. If not Noni, it may well be GUARANO - that's got a fair bit of caffeine in it, gives you a bit of a buzz. You can get guarano gum, too, which is supposed to give you a gentle 'high'. Not to be confused with guano...

Wait! Wait! I may have found it! Is it 'gingko', HT? There's a company producing some rather odd-flavoured stuff based on gingko (it's a tree, apparently the oldest surviving species on the planet, called gingko biloba - twin-lobed, as its leaves appear). One is called 'kefir' and the other is just 'gingko', I think. I tried both, and have to say they're a rather acquired taste. Nothing a shot of voddie couldn't improve, I think.

Magners is the overseas brand name for Bulmers, btw.
Thanks Gareth, been trying to think of the name of the cider we had in that pub in Dublin. Was trying to remember for most of last night :)
