Interesting little race this. Boothill was all the rage pre-season last year, but didn’t shine and disappointed at his one try over fences. Having another go over fences today and will he start to deliver in earnest or not.

Silent Revolution is another one highly thought of who should have been going places last season, but didn’t. Nicholls says: “I think Silent Revolution is a bit of a dark horse going novice chasing and I like him a lot. He won first time over hurdles then got an injury and we then couldn’t run him until the spring. “We ran him in the Supreme and then he went back to Chepstow made all and we put him away to go chasing.”

Haddex Des Obeaux is yet another one who had a heavily truncated season last time after showing much promise.

Datsalrightgino is not there just to make up the numbers, either. He started brightly over hurdles last season and was highly tried thereafter without seriously competing. Debut chase today,

All in all, this one should be very informative.

For one reason or another nothing offered Boothill any meaningful challenge and he won as comfortably as you like. Jumped competently and looked happy enough doing it, but didn’t tell us much else. Money came for him, but that may have come because of the drifting Silent Revolution (who looked quite a handful) more than anything. I’ll keep with him for a bit.

Datsalrightgino ran a prep race of promise and yesterday wasn't the day was it? He is def one to keep an eye on. 2m on a Gd surface would suit: no further, despite what the race analysis says in the RP, imo.
If you look at his hurdle form, you'll notice he never run in a h/cap. Yesterday's mark was, presumably, set on his hurdle rating. That mark, in itself could be underrated - you know how it is when they run horses for a mark.

It could be that this one is well handicapped and a bigger prize is the target.

Waddya reckon.

I always find it difficult to take these silly named horses seriously, but I think you’re right. Seemed to get taken off his feet a bit mid-race, but finished well - although flattered by getting so close to Boothill who just coasted in - and probably needs longer. It was a decent starter for ten, anyway, for a horse who was highly tried in Class 1s and 2 over hurdles. Found wanting, but they must see something there.
