New thread as prompted by Desert.

I already posted about Letterston Lady who obliged winning easily at Worcester yesterday. She can run up a sequence I think.

In Division II of the same race You Wear It Well looked as though she could be decent. She was keen to get on with it and bowled along quite happily at the front end. All over the place over the final two hurdles, but she shot away after the last to win very impressively.

Benson was having his first run for Sandy Thomson today (Carlisle 2.10) and ran on well to get within a length of a progressive looking type giving 9lb + the 3lb claim after looking like he got stuck in the mud 3 or 4 out

He can go one better soon assyuming the handicapper doesn’t hit him too much

Kotmask - travelled well enough in H102's race today and third two out but thereafter wasn't seriously asked to close the winner down. Given the stable's liking for Sandown, I imagine we'll see a different horse whenever they go there. There's usually a decent 2m handicap hurdle there in November. I think it used to be called the Wm Hill but not sure what it is now.

Not the strongest race in the world, but Ile De Jersey had it won only to fall at the last. Jumped it ok then buckled after landing and it looked quite a heavy fall. If she’s ok she can win at this level fairly comfortably. 2:25 Taunton

Thames Water, Hermino AA and Table Thirty Four really stood out in the bumper today at Ascot. Thames Water ( really they couldn't come up with a better name than that?? ) bless him, shouting all the way round the pre parade/parade ring. Table Thirty Four needs to grow into himself a bit but really nice. Hermino AA didn't really catch they eye until jocked up to be honest, not sure really why . Think that may turn out to be a good race for a few in that race.

Djelo won very nicely at Exeter today even allowing for the fact that they removed some of the hurdles. One to keep the right side of.

Super impressive. On a related note I reckon Venetias yard are just about to hit a hot streak, very encouraging weekend for her string.

Aye, just cantered in, never off the bridle. Hope the handicapper doesn’t go mad.

I think I read about this horse a while ago and was trying to rack my brains for the name for my Dark Horse. As soon as I saw it, the lightbulb lit up! Think it’s quite highly thought of. It was the sales topper when she bought it but it didn’t run last season. I did have a little each way on him and think he’s nice.

Sporting Ace 1:35 Warwick was running well, but his stamina gave out in the end. He had opened early price at 14/1 which didn’t last long and went to sixes pretty sharpish. Went off at 4/1 and it maybe that the testing ground thwarted the gamble.

Two for the future.

Quirks gate 2nd to hunters yarn beaten 13L and didnt really try and get near the winner.
Harvard guy same race and stayed on late for the 2nd time and will be of interest in hcaps.

3.35 Sandown Saturday
Iceo raced very wide throughout and lost many lengths as a result. I also felt he was quietly ridden. A decent enough run after nearly a year off and he’ll be winning soon imo

You may be right, Vike, but my initial thought was that it was a terrible ride from Cobden - way too confident his horse would quicken on ground that had deteriorated quite badly.

My initial thoughts were the same but that they might be protecting his mark for the Betfair. I see he’s been put up 1lb and rates a fair bet at 16/1 generally

'Problem'' might be PNs stable tour comment....

"He arrived from France a year ago the winner of his only start over hurdles and belonged in the 'could be anything' category. There was further cause for optimism when he won as he liked on his debut for us at Kempton over Christmas. But a comprehensive defeat when upped in grade for the Triumph Trial at Cheltenham, where he ran much too free, told me he wasn't up to a Triumph challenge. Although he went on to finish only fourth in the Grade 2 Dovecote, it looked quite a competitive race and he wasn't beaten far, staying on strongly from the back of the last. That run told me he wants a trip. He had a little fracture at the end of the season that required screws being inserted, so he won't be back until around Christmas, when we're going to do what we did with Clan Des Obeaux and Frodon, and more recently Hitman, who all went chasing as four-year-olds. I'm sure there's more to come as he's crying out for fences."

ofc, views may have changed.

Keep an eye on Henry De Bromhead's Queen Jane. She just had her 2nd run after a 200 day lay off, Travelled well and looked likely to be involved in the finish until she looked to have blew up turning for home in the heavy ground.
That race will have brought her on a ton and shouldn't be missed next time out.

Wouldn't be too sure, Grass. A horse that's pulled hard in the past; held up ,after a long break, looks like they've achieved what they wanted, and set him up nicely, imo.
