Ntl Broadband Upgrades

Just in case anyone doesn't know, NTL are upgrading customers for free to higher speeds (although watch out later in the year for bandwidth caps!)

If you have a cable modem rather than set top box you can upgrade instantly here

If you have a black set top box then you need a new one if you are going above 1mb, if you have the samsung box then you can go straight to 2mb. You have to call customer service for set top box speed increases

I get

Downstream 966 Kbps (120.8 KB/sec) 1043 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 64 Kbps (8.0 KB/sec) 69 Kbps (inc. overheads)

for the 1mb service
(upload speed is slow )

Mines been done and now its running on 2mb BB at no extra cost. Mines was with bt yahoo though.
