It dies, like most butterflies at the end of summer/ autumn . Only the odd few can hibernate.



I must add that on some websites the Brimstone is down as being a hibernating butterfly, but this is indeed extremely rare and according to my ' bible ' hardly ever happens because they cannot stand the cold.
