'king hell,
this almost surpasses the opening ceremony, and I thought nothing could ever top that!

What a spectacular pageant full of panache and style.
The lighting, seamless continuity, and structure of it is flawless.
10/10 for entertainment value too.

London has put on the show of the century over the past few weeks.
Well done, LDN.

Who would you have preferred, Bar?

We're a nation of eclectic music lovers aren't we, it must have been hard to narrow down the musical acts bar the usual suspects.

Russel Brand and most certainly the Spice Bints aren't my cup of meat; it is the spectacle itself -- the choreography and execution of the event that is blowing me away.
I think it is a marvellous production.

they were fun and harmless...i cant abide queen but you are right...as is marble...its not put on to satisfy ones persons tastes ffs

good luck to rio...hell of an act to follow....but cant wait and its melancholy that this amazing time is over

COnsidering the amount of British Talent for the last 50 years, why did Emile Sande and Jessie J get multiple opportunities to flog their music? I went to bed before Take That (kudos to Gary Barlow for going on considering what happened) and The Who to finish .....

The flow of the music wasnt always there, whilst the commentary was inane and pointless.

Dont get me wrong, I am sure they did the best they could with the limited talent that agreed to come on board but what happened to the link to the live show with Snow Patrol, Duran Duran etc?

Have to ask where were the likes of Sir Elton John, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Adele, Leona Lewis, Robbie Williams etc?

These are iconic names for British Music, but failed to make an appearance. :ninja: I know they are not everyone's cup of tea but seriously they should have been the first people on the list for appearance at the Olympics.

Hell for that matter where was Seal? He was grammy winner afterall!

Nice to see the former Queen band members there, would have been a true spectacle if Freddie Mercury was still alive can imagine the whole show would have been an anthem based around him.

You can't fail if you finish with The Who

Brian May has turned into Hynge or Brackett - I can't make up my mind which one.

Ray Davies needs to forget about Waterloo, and sort out his f*cking Barnet.

All in all, a pretty good musical showcase which reflected British idiosyncracies rather well, I thought.

Adele is quite heavily pregnant I believe. Robbie Williams' ego probably too big for the stadium. No idea what's happened to Leona Lewis (or Seal). I'm just grateful they didn't wheel out Paul McCartney again.

Adele also said last year that she was taking 4 years off from everything, so that has probably had a bearing on it as well - she announced the pregnancy just before the jubilee concert IIRC??

Glad LL wasnt there, just cant warm to her or her voice at all...
