One day I went to the races
All dressed up nice and neat
I backed the first four favourites
But every one got beat
Then I saw that trainer Joe
Give a treat to Majority Blue
But Lord Cadogan the steward
Well he did see it too
He gave a mighty shout
That made the trainer jump
Don’t worry me Lord said Joe
‘Twas just a sugar lump
He reached into his pocket
And pulled out another two
Here you go me lord said Joe
Let’s us just have one too
Then I heard him tell his jockey
Just how to run the race
He whispered in his ear
And his hand it hid his face
When you hit the final furlong
Just tap him and let him run free
And nothing will get past yer
Lest it’s Lord Cadogan or me
