Couldn't find a thread for this (or if there is it could be merged or maybe this is a refresher) so I will start one

Sandown 3.35 Brace for Landing (courtesy of the puppy snafflers aka Dan'n'Arry) - interesting. I spotted him as outsider of the whole field just before the off and as I didn't have a bet all day, thought bugger it, just the sort that will pop up. He didn't but it was a "kind" ride. The horse showed promise in France in two runs over 2m 2f and has now had three runs for Skeltons. First time was over 2m and he ran well to finish third at Stratford over 2m (anchored out the back) then up half a mile at Newcastle (100-30) where he was prominent and weakened two out. Then back to 2m today at Sandown and completely unfancied at 33s. Was going as well as anything else into the last and just faded ever so tamely and quietly. So I'm just wondering......he's very unexposed and currently off 120 so should drop again a couple.

Anyway it may be nothing...

Looked like a sprint finish to me,Jinny, though it was a qualifier,so he's probably being prepped for the final, imho.

Yeah it's probably nothing and maybe my eye was drawn more towards him due to the bright red colours but I will keep an eye on the horse anyway.

Sectionals confurm sprint finish (final 2f were the quickest) & ground was at fast side of good.
In a better race,he'll likely get a stronger pace and he'll a better horse for it,imo.

BRACE FOR LANDING – 3:35pm Sandown

He ran well to finish third first time up this season at Stratford, and then the way the race developed at Newcastle last time didn’t really suit him. He was a little disappointing there and I wonder if he was saving a bit for himself. We’ve put a pair of cheekpieces on him to help bring out his best, as we think he’s well-handicapped and has plenty of ability. If he puts his best foot forward, I think he has a good chance.
