This colt just won a race which last year went to eventual 2,000 Guineas winner, Notable Speech.

He was always "in the van" - and could be argued to have had the run of the race - but he still quickened up impressively and he looks a fine physical specimen.

Opera Ballo is now a top-priced 10/1 for the 2,000 Guineas.

If he follows the same route as Notable Speech he will be back at Kempton Park over Easter where they stage two Stakes races at 1m, one for 3yo colts and the other for 3yo fillies.

The pathway to the Classics constantly changes over the years.

And at Meydan on Saturday it's all going on!

Unbeaten Arabian Crown makes his 4yo debut - last seen winning the Classic Trial at Sandown Park.

And Acomb third Ruling Court is in the Jumeirah 2,000 Guineas.

It's actually a cracking card generally.

Ruling Court impressed me at Meydan just now and has clearly trained on well.

What did he beat?

Well, they weren't the best, but they weren't the worst either.

Mountain Breeze also won comfortably earlier in what looked a weaker race to me.
