Wow now here's a can of worms alright. You could make a case for a lot of owners or groups.

I can certainly understand Trudij vote.

Roddy supports a trainer known mainly for summer form and achieves respectable results with his string long after the Chepstow winter festival. Was very unfortunate earlier in the year with a horse he'd bred himself and one he had been very patient with, and has fought back well scooping the Durham National recently. Plus I'll always remember his confidence when he took Rolling Maul to Cheltenham for that handicap hurdle on New years day 2015.

A lot of the owners in the actual lost are ridiculously high net worth and whilst they are all to be commended for their ownership interests and the impact on racing it's a bit different being the ruler of Dubai and having 200 horses in training, with deep pockets at the sales and a breeding operation to match. Such a pool of animals to find those champions and finances to buy more whenever they see a flashy maiden winner or hear of some fast early morning reports.

Even the expanding OntoAWinner syndicate are adding horses bought all year round. They're no Al Shaqab with regards budgets but they've benefitted immensely from a sound marketing strategy and a very very good filly. A lot of hard work has grown their business and they have a happy supportive band of owners.

The reality is that you could probably pop into every yard in this country or Ireland and there will be a story that endears an owner or a group. Delighted to see Bay of Freedom doing well for Paul after being a bit unwell at times last year.

The only owners I give a monkey's about, are those on here with horses.

As pointless and uninteresting awards go, this is right up there with Skirting Board of the Year.
