Pat Cosgrave

F**king disgusting, no matter I’m sure he’ll get some defend him. I don’t bet on AW flat races (and this is partly why) so had no interest but there is simply no excuse for that. Did he really think an eased out length win would stop the handicapper realising he was miles better.

Not aftertiming here but I backed two in the race, one was the winner. I watched him absolutely cruisng two out, like you said he thought could he just sit there and cruise in. He never once looked over his left shoulder though and to be honest the winner did finish well. But the fact he never thought to check the other side is a bit unreal to me. It wasn't like he was on the rail so only had to look one side.

He definitely glanced left, I have watched the replay a few times and it's not a full look but he does have a glance to his left, and given it's night time, I would have thought he could see the shadow of the winner on his left and in his peripheral vision.

It was a really bad one Gaz if you backed it, I would have been absolutely livid. You might be right, I only watched it once but I just thought he was totally took in by those on the outside. It certainly wasn't one of those obvious look left, look right jobs you generally see. It was a mistake for sure, we all make them, but it did look really bad for a jockey with his experience.

That probably cost him 4 grand.......but if it were William Buick it would have cost him neare 30K for the same offence.

Never could find myself agreeing with days.......A standard fine to me would be fairer.

Some will say the top jockeys would just break rules if the fines were at the lesser end but I doubt that very much.
Top trainers don't want assocciated with known cheats.

Does anyone think that, if Cosgrave had won by a nose riding in exactly the same manner, he should also have been banned?

Cosgrave is a decent pilot...lot of international experience. Would have him up there bar the superstar jocks
