BHA chief executive Paul Bittar is to leave British racing's governing body at the end of his three-year term early in the new year.

No reason has been given for his departure, although the BHA said Bittar has a number of options he is considering for his next role.

The search for a new chief executive has started and the identity of Bittar's successor is expected to be announced in the autumn.

Paddy Power bet on replacement: 10 Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, 14 Rachel Hood, Charles Barnett, Edward Gillespie, Alan Byrne, 20 Paul Dixon, Michael Howard, Ralph Topping, 25 Rod Street, 33 Paul Struthers, 50 Paddy Kennedy

The 14/1 about Edward Gillespie looks a fair price.

Can evidence 'commercial acumen' and 'industry experience' in his CV, and importantly 'comes from the right stock'.

I wouldn't bet all of that lot coupled at 200/1

Some of those, I genuinely wouldn't have a pound on at a trillion.

:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::nono::nono::eek::eek: :eek:

In my opinion, the guy was on the payroll of the big bookies during his stint at C4.

On RTE a few years ago a rep for an Irish bookmaker asked two of the presenters if they had been looked after for a price in the corporate box.
Should betting experts be allowed to report on the market if they get preferential treatment-you wouldn't get away with it if you were tipping shares.

Bar The Bull comes across as sensible and creative. Can I nominate him?

Listening to Paul Bittar saying how much he loves the sport and how much he cares about British racing bla bla then saying him leaving is nothing to do with the remuneration package sound like the biggest crock ever to me.

If you love dong something and you don't need the money why on earth would you choose to leave?

I think he forgot to add.........I would stay if it wasn't for the bunch of dickheads involved.

Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges favourite?..........They wish !!! he would be a huge asset but I'm afraid he wouldn't take the job for all the tea in China.
