LONDON May 17, 2006 (AP)— Paul McCartney and his wife Heather Mills are planning to separate, media reports said Wednesday.

Representatives of the couple declined to comment but said a statement was expected later in the day.

The former Beatle married Mills in June 2002, four years after his former wife Linda McCartney died of breast cancer. McCartney and Mills had a daughter in October 2003.

The Daily Mirror and BBC both reported the planned split.

Oh dear, Simmo

Anyway, assuming they do eventually divorce and evidently as they were "too much in love" to think about a pre nuptial, I wonder how much Lady Heather Mills McCartney will go for after her 4 years of marriage to Sir Paul.

Perhaps Stella may be telling her Dad she was probably right about Heather all along.

I read in the Sun  that she can expect to receive £200 million of his £800 million fortune :what: Not bad for four years work!

I was gonna post something similar (if a tad smuttier) Griffin, but i felt some of the more bolshie women here (SL) might jump all over me.

How much did Anna Nicole Smith rake in?

The excuse given was the pressures of a high profile marriage, Now let me see wasn't Sir Paul married to Linda for 30yrs & that was a high profile marriage  that seemed to last didn't it?

Nah, I have about as much contempt for gold diggers as the next person tbh Euro. Nowt but less obvious prostitutes of a sort.

She's apparently asked for a plane as part of the settlement but McCartney told her to use Imac like everyone else.

I hope, if they do finally split, that she is awarded half of what they have earned together in the last 4 years. What their daughter gets is a different matter. There is still the chance they could reconcile, but I have a feeling Heather is just too full of her own self importance and hates living in Sir Paul's shadow. That said, Heather has done some remarkable work for various charities for which she apparently feels she does not get enough recognition for. Perhaps if she is given £200 million of any future settlement she will donate the majority of it to worthy causes. <_<

Sure you're right Kathy but if she was a truly charitable person, surely recognition shouldn't come into it!

Normally a four year marriage would be considered a short one and is taken into account when Ancillary Relief is applied for.
Whatever the outcome and she supports some charities, fine.

I know Songsheet, but from what I have read she feels she is always going to be overshadowed by Sir Paul and no one ever truly appreciated the good she has done. Let's face it, he was always going to be more famous than she would be or ever would be, and I think that truly riles her. She hated being compared to Linda, and the fact that Sir Paul evidently never hid the fact that she (Linda) was always the biggest love of his life even after she had died.

If Heather now gets a divorce, she has managed to propell herself into the limelight and may land herself with the title of Sir Paul's "ex". She will probably be like Alex Best and keep the McCartney surname. I never felt they were truly suited as Heather seems to have one massive ego. Possibly, strangely alike in that respect.

Perhaps, assuming they do eventually divorce she can disappear away from the public glare which she clearly detests(?) and go and do her own thing quietly, alone. I don't think we will really ever hear the end of her though one way or the other - her ego probably wouldn't allow this to happen.

If the ban includes breast milk all newborns will have to weaned on a diet good old Fish & Chips with, of course, the mandatory six (6) slices of Bread and Butter.

So Kathy, let me understand the intent of your assertion and the difficulty therein.

Heather was a moderately successful mid range model. And Sir Paul was ........................a Beatle.

Yes - I think you are right there OK. He was that alright.

McCartney's lawyers have just advised him what he will be left with after any divorce settlement
