No dashing about from meting to meeting, but just a nice relaxing day watching some decent racing at Exeter with a few interesting runners to boot

2:30 Henderson said of The Carpenter in a stable tour:

A heartening second in an Irish bumper, he's been plagued with a splint problem, but I pray it's just growing pains because he's shown a considerable amount. He's got a great attitude to jumping and is a chaser through and through, but a full season novice hurdling will be first.

And today pre racing: “ He’s a lovely big horse and two mile two furlongs round a stiff track like Exeter should be perfect and this is a good starting point.

No surprise he’s been so keen to get him started. This was quite an eye catching introduction, winning readily without being asked for too much. Going places this one if he keeps sound.

3:00 Rose of Arcadia was up in grade in this Class1 Listed and acquitted herself well. Flat footed at the last which cost her and she would have finished closer, but still probably third or fourth. I reckon she should be a good bet back in calmer waters.

3:30 Luccia cruised to an impressive win, albeit that her jumping was a bit untidy and it should have put her spot on for the Mares Novice at Cheltenham.

4:00 No stopping Henderson and Nico today and Walking on Air finally delivered after two disappointing runs where Henderson thought she would win.
