I'm just wondering how many people go to point to points? I know it's a cliché but it really is grass roots racing, brilliant for the soul. If anyone's interested in dipping their toe in, and wherever you are in the UK or Ireland you'll find a meeting near you, here's a short video I made at Dunsmore in Devon yesterday which will hopefully give you a taste of what to expect. Incidentally, you'll be amazed how many top racing faces turn up at some of these meetings.

Thanks Simon for posting this. It was a really nice days racing yesterday and I managed to back two winners in Longshanks and also the winner of the last. Thought Noble Don was one to take out of the meeting on his debut....lovely in the paddock and jumped superbly.

Luke Harvey I suspect will be ribbed mercilessly for not knowing how to tack up properly!

But seriously any of you thinking about going, it’s really worth a day out. Informal, lots of fun and not expensive. And as Simon said, load of racing names turn up and are more than happy to chat with you. Far more relaxed than on a Rules racecourse.
