Just to try and brighten up a mundane couple of weeks on the racing front I am inviting entries for another tipping game I want to trial on TH and FF, this time loosely based on the Pointless game on television, well sort off 
. Just like its TV counterpart, we will only play this game from Monday through to Friday leaving the weekend free for the various weekend tipping competitions and the more serious stuff of finding winners for those who indulge. The competition starts on Monday January 13th, please indicate if you wish to be play by 6PM on Sunday January 12th so I can make the draw and post it up as soon as possible afterwards. All entrants will be drawn with a partner as the game is played by pairs, so the number of entrants is immaterial, if we end up with an odd number I will join in.
Each player selects one horse per day from any race meeting in the UK or Ireland and receives points as follows, the pair ( or pairs !) with the highest combined total drop out each day until we have a winning pair. Players in each pair may select the same horse if they wish.
Losing selection scores 100 points
Winner at SP odds between 1 -100 and 1-2 scores 90 points
Winner at SP odds between 8 - 15 and Evens scores 80 points
Winner at SP odds between 11-10 and 15-8 scores 70 points
Winner at SP odds between 2-1 and 4-1 scores 60 points
Winner at SP odds between 9-2 and 6–1 scores 50 points
Winner at SP odds between 13-2 and 8-1 scores 40 points
Winner at SP odds between 17-2 and 10-1 scores 30 points
Winner at SP odds between 11-1 and 14-1 scores 20 points
Winner at SP odds between 16-1 and 20-1 scores 10 points
Winner at odds of 22-1 or more scores 0 points POINTLESS !
In the event one player does not make a selection, his or her partner’s points are doubled.
If the event both players fail to make a selection, their scores are 100 points each.
In the event players select a NR their selections are deemed to be the horse with the lowest race card number in the respective race unless replaced by the cut off time.
All selections to be posted by the time of the first race of the day whether in Ireland or on the UK mainland. Selections after the cut off time will be discounted and score 100 pts, NO EXCEPTIONS.
