It gets worse - the ITN report seems to show outrageous lies and spin when he was killed .

It seems that he had been overpowered before he was shot . I regret to say that if that is true he was murdered.

Good Evening.
The name BLAIR seems to be symn-synomi-sin-bugger it popular for lying gits. :)

I saw the report breaking on Channel 4 News last night - if what is alleged is true, it is very worrying indeed.

Btw James, it's Menezes with a Z, isn't it?! ;)

I really want to know where all the bizarre eye witness reports immediately after the shooting came from.

"I saw an Asian guy. He ran on to the train, he was hotly pursued by three plain clothes officers, one of them was wielding a black handgun.

"He [the suspect] had a baseball cap on and quite a sort of thickish coat - it was a coat you'd wear in winter, sort of like a padded jacket. He might have had something concealed under there, I don't know. But it looked sort of out of place with the sort of weather we've been having, the sort of hot humid weather

"He was largely built, he was quite a chubby sort of guy.

"I saw these police officers in uniform and out of uniform shouting 'get down, get down', and I saw this guy who appeared to have a bomb belt and wires coming out and people were panicking and I heard two shots being fired."

What I don't understand is the fact that a policeman was supposed to have held him in a bear hug hold - I thought this guy was supposed suicide bomber FFS! And then they shot him to the head in case he detonated anything he may be carrying on his person - I am somewhat confused by this.

Perhaps the bizarre "witness" was a police officer Gareth?

I was initially sympathetic towards the police, but this is beginning to make the Guildford Four event look like a Dixon of Dock Green episode.
I can't believe that PC Blair will last and surely murder charges are a possibility.

I guess the comforting thing is that if the leaked report from the enquiry is valid, there has been no cover up.

What I want to know is who put about all the guff about a heavy jacket/jumping of the barriers etc. Stinks.

Well, I think there were a few on here who were highly sceptical about this incident at the time and the one good thing about this appalling mess is that, for whatever reasons, truth is getting harder and harder to hide in this country.

I hope that a full and proper enquiry is held and, if the policeman who pulled the trigger did so illegally, then that person and also his superiors, both immediate and further up the chain, are all held to account.

If nothing else, I suppose we can congratulate ourselves we live in a society that's open enough for such information to enter the public domain. I hope those countries that jump on the condemnation bandwagon are able to say the same.

Well said, Songsheet.

Ironic that poor Jean Charles De Menezes hailed from a country infamous for its death squads and urchin-murdering policemen, to be shot to bits going peacefully to work in the UK.
