Re-admitted having surgery now... tracheotomy to help him breath that’s pretty severe and I suspect its not flue as we been told!! thinking it was, I think with throat closing he has something worse than flue....................

Joe, there is no verb to detention. The verb is to detain.

I probably read more Racing Sections under the desk than you've had hot dinners but it didn't stop me learning proper English B)
