The closing date for these races has been set for Tuesday, May 6th. The entry at that point is valid for any race for the time being as the rating of the horse in question can not be officially made at such an early date.
The selection of a race for the horse entered has to made by the trainer at the regular closing date twelve days prior to the race (September 16th) with dual entries still being possible at that date. This is also the time when the scales and weights are determined.
A late entry is not possible. The entry fee on the closing date May 6th is 1.600,- Euros with 800,- Euros being deducted at that date and the second rate of again 800,- being due on June 3rd.
In the time between May 12th and August 23rd, the Cologne Race Club will be awarding premiums of 2.000,- Euros each to the owner of the winning horse of any race in Cologne during this period with a total purse below 20.000,- Euros providing the winner in question is entered for any of the above mentioned races on the jubilee day. This premium is not regarded as prize money won, but can be obtained more than once.
There will be a further fee of 1.600,- Euros due on declaration day.
Foreign runners are also eligible for the handicap races, their rating abroad will be conveyed to the German GAG system. A handicap of class II will be equivalent to a rating between 67 and 90, a handicap of class III will be equivalent to a rating between 56 and 70 according the British handicap scale.
In the case of a necessary qualifying in accordance with paragraph no. 434 of the Rules Of Racing (declaration of runners exceeding the highest number allowed) the horses taken out of the race will be provided with substitute races. The purse for these substitute races which will only be held with a minimum of 8 runners is dependant on the number of actual runners and will amount to at least 30.000,- Euros.
For this race meeting, the necessary number of entries needed for these 8 races (excluding the two Group races) will be 500.

As said, new closing date and think it could be interesting for "smaller" owners to gain some blacktype in the fillies race, and even for the odd Handicapper. Even allowing the Transport costs this looks a big chance to earn smart money. There aren´t that many good horses in Germany anymore norty

Thanks Cat, I've sent this on to the Moores, in case it eluded them with all the recent 'excitements' -
they love having runners abroad, they even took one to that mega-rich race in Turkey last year!

Thanks Crazy - I have forwarded on to many trainers here just in case.

Our partners won't agree to pay the entry fees s& plane fees etc. we will not be bringing Cativo, otherwise if we owned all of her we would!

what sort of track is Cologne, how long would the straight be in a mile class 3 ?

How quick is the ground?

as for the ground thats notoriously difficult to predict, and german tracks are not as open as english about watering etc. - the normal state would be 4,2 good (at least thats what most tracks mainly announce) , but end of sep. it could certainly be soft too - would certainly send updates on here ! :)

@ising - yeah, its some money to enter, racing is in a bleak state over here so owners have to finance it all
- BUT at least there is a chance to get something back

I love the map as well - look at the size of the Grandstand !!! Mind you, it isn´t much bigger in real live, and is falling to pieces too.

Its obvioulsy all in meters, so the mile-start in the left-hand corner, one bend, and a nearly 3 furlong straight ....
