Some mates have asked me to accompany them on a stag weekend in Prague in early Feb. 2005. Any tips on where to stay, where to visit, etc. They are all p*ss artists.

I have been last year and had a fantastic time. I can thoroughly recommend the Movenpick hotel, about 5-10 minutes out of the centre by the excellent metro system (if fast moving escalators worry you then it is not ideal though) and in general, it is a lovely city, quite untouched by modern Western culture.

One of Europes top capitals and wasted on p*ss artists.
The architecture is superb and a good range of different priced hotels

When we went on Rugby tour (not a hint of rugby was played or watched for 4 days) we happened to stay at a very bsic hotel out of the centre in one of the districts. There were a number of bars close by to our hotel where a large beer (almost a pint) was about 35p. In the Centre where the action was it was about £2 a pint so if you're looking for somewhere for a quiet cheap drink in the afternoon, take a wander outwards off the beaten track. Be wary of taxis. Always ask the price to a location before getting in. It varies enormously and there is talk of some cars being run my a 'taxi mafia'. Nightlife was excellent but one minor and annoying problem was the 'gypsy prostitutes' pestering you on the streets late at night. Any gang of men walk past and they seemed to pounce. Keep your hand on your wallet if/when they approach you!

A superb city well worth a visit.

A few of the lads at work have returned today after four days in Prague and a day at the Pardubicka - they recommended the sex museum!

(I was on the phone trying to nick a price when I read this and the lady at the other end asked me what I was laughing at!)

If you are driving, and crossing at the Pilsen crossing point.Take time to look over the Local Market at the border.staffed mostly by orientals. There are bargains by the truck load. All the top watches and footy gear, shoes etc.Must barter.

Change your money out of Country.

Hi Mate

Book through Hotels.com, if you have not already done so, very efficient and make you aware of what bargains are available for your dates. A very enjoyable holiday indeed, if not a bit tiresome of drink etc.

Regards
Trevor
